Bout of Books 10.0 Wrap Up

Bout of Books

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 12th and runs through Sunday, May 18th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 10 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

Thoughts: So, this Bout of Books was my first true read-a-thon. Can I just say that it was an amazing experience? No, I didn't meet my updated goal. But, I did exceed my original goal of 6 books. Which, considering my schedule for the week of BOB and the tiny amount of time I actually could read over the weekend I'm very happy with. I think this read-a-thon was a great way to jump into summer on a great note reading wise. It was a fun, communal, and relaxing way to get back into the right mindset to try to tackle the books on my TBR shelf. So, while I didn't do as well as I once predicted this experience as a whole was worthwhile and invigorating. I will be posting some reviews of the books I read this week so keep an eye out for those!

How was your experience? Did you meet your goals? What are your reading goals now?

  1. Looks like you read a lot of good books! I just bought my first Victoria Schwab book tonight, Vicious and can't wait to get started. I've heard a lot of good things about her writing.

This was my first real read-a-thon as well. I ended up reading 4 book 2 more than I planned on doing which is awesome. I really enjoyed how relaxing it was and also it definitely helped put a dent in my tbr pile which is always a plus haha.
